"Before I joined Triple A's in late 2017, I thought I was one of the only people with my form of autism living in the region. I found it difficult to socialise correctly, not being able to understand cues or read the room as expected. Since joining, I've found myself part of a large community of like-minded people that I hitherto thought seemed implausible, and as well as having plenty of opportunities to join in fun activities and outings, with no neurotypical-set expectations or limits in the myriad conversations I've had with my peers, I feel like I've learnt so much about social communication (indeed much more so than at school!) and I've also been able to built up confidence in myself. My time with the charity has been nothing but wonderful so far, and I hope it will continue to flourish for the future. I highly recommend it to any autists out there who need a comfortable place to express themselves."

"I first joined Triple A's in early 2015, having been told about it by two other members of the charity who I met in a short College course. While I was hesitant at first, I decided to go for it, being introduced properly to the charity by Alastair. I have been attending Triple A's ever since up to today.

I had very little understanding of what Autism is before I joined, only really knowing that it made me 'think differently' from others. However, since joining, I feel I have been given a way to better understand not only myself but others and how being Autistic affects them. The groups have helped my social skills develop, taking steps to leave the house and spend more time outside despite Agoraphobia making it incredibly difficult even today. It has also helped me build friendships with other Autists who share similar and different experiences, and built up team building and co-operative skills together. Just having the ability to arrange and spend time in the Triple A's to break out of comfort zones and acclimate to new and different settings has been a massive help in confidence and understanding.

The staff had also played a big part in understanding what Autism is and that it's not a disease or something 'wrong' with me - It's just a part of me that's different, and I'm just one part of a wider spectrum that thinks, acts, and needs differently. Without the staff and the charity, and their patience and understanding as Autists also, I don't think I ever would have really understood how Autism affects myself and others, nor would I have gained the relationships and skills I have now."

"I had actually missed out on [The charity] for a number of years between October 2018 and March 2024 I contacted Alaster because I really needed something to do since then I haven't missed a week barring holidays and such it was great to be able to hang out and play games even if we don't always get to play the games I want I enjoy ASH meetings and get on with most of the others well it has helped me get through a very hard time in my life that and the pills it allowed me to do something other than stay in my room all day and go crazy

I am very thankful to ASH for helping in my recovery and making life worth living"

"It has helped me with my social life, helped me develop friendships. It's very beneficial and has helped others develop new friends. And I would recommend it for people who have had difficulty making friends.  I really enjoy playing video games there. "

"I'm so glad that my brother started going to the group. He has made great friends and made big strides in his personal development too.  I really like that he can go to a group that is designed for people like him."
